From our new collection of ancient hand dug treasures from "Down Under". This is a gorgeous antique Dinneford's Magnesia Bottle from the early 1800's. This beautiful bottle has some splendid crusty mineralization, patina and light iridescence from being buried in the earth for over 150 years. Hand dug in Australia and embossed with "Dinneford's Magnesia".
In 1829, physician Sir James Murray (1788 - 1871) a physician and a chemist used a condensed solution of fluid magnesia, of his own design, to treat the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland for stomach pain. The fluid was patented although Dr. Murray had great difficulty protecting his patent rights that were obtained only in the British Empire. The result was that his assistant, Dinneford benefited financially after Murray's death in popularizing the formula!

Our Glass Cross Bottles are made from antique unearthed glass bottles, most over a century old, and each with a rich time worn history and a story all of its own. Each bottle, some from the early Americas and most from Europe, has an archival patina kissed by age and its own unique declaration of another era of time gone by. We add reclaimed and collected parts from European lead crystal chandeliers both vintage and antique. Each lead crystal has a unique shape and color that infracts light with an incredible display of dazzling prisms of light.
Each bottle is articulated with a unique artistic interpretation and the crystals have been fastened with a layering of heavy old world solder that is then hand washed with a time worn rich patina of blackened pewter and weathered iron. Many of our Cross Bottles are dressed and adorned with collected Czech rosary chain and crystals beads, seashells, jewels, and seed pearls that have been saved and collected for many years. Other bottles are further embellished with sterling silver treasures and pewter wax seals, jeweled hearts and crosses. Careful attention is given to the selection of all of the impeccable details.
Lovely in a window where they can work their magic making light dance. They are also stunning in small groups where they are just absolutely breathtaking.
These bottles, for the artist, are a very special interpretation of God's Grace of Salvation at the Cross of Calvary. They celebrate the creative artistic gifts that are given to us by the Creator to reflect His brilliance and His great gift of love for us all as individuals created in His image. It is our hope that the beauty of these artistic bottles will have a very special meaning to all that chose to own or to share one and that they will bring great joy along with their incredible shimmering beauty.
