An authentic sepia and white photograph of the US General Douglas MacArthur leaving the plane in Bataan in the Philippines to sign the peace treaty with the Emperor of Japan in 1945. The surrender of the Empire of Japan was announced by Imperial Japan on August 15 and formally signed on September 2, 1945, bringing the hostilities of World War II to a close.
This photograph was taken by a US veteran soldier who was a witness to the actual event aboard the ship USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.
Very much a collectable photograph. The photo has been framed and the front and the back of the photo was photo copied and is in a pouch envelope on the back of the frame.
