The silver is hallmarked with a series of letters that tells it's history. This plate has EPNS 31448 meaning it was made in Sheffield in 1922 and is Electroplated Nickel Silver. This was a makers mark from the craftsman Frederick C. Asman who worked in Sheffield from 1905 - 1933.
