A fabulous antique silver plated revolving butter dish by a silversmith to the aristocracy.
This elegant example has a fluted domed lid with a central oval vacant cartouche which when opened reveals a removable pierced tray which is where blocks of butter would sit, the underneath would be filled with crushed ice to keep the butter fresh and chilled. The dish stands on exquisite legs and is fully marked on the underside with a cursive F and a Crown and the words ENGLAND. We feel this piece Dates to the early 1900's. This beautiful piece remains in excellent condition.
